Rugged cable assemblies for

 targeting pods, infrared cameras,

 and sights introduced by Cicoil

cable assemblies

VALENCIA, Calif., 28 Sept. 2015. Cicoil Corp. in Valencia, Calif.,
is introducing the Flexx-Sil flat cable assemblies are for targeting pods, ]
thermographic cameras, and infrared sight systems typically used in
multi-role fighter aircraft, attack helicopters, and maritime surveillance vessels.
The compact Flexx-Sil interconnect products are engineered to provide
consistent electrical characteristics, space and weight savings, EMI/RFI
suppression, cable flexibility and are suited to the demands of
mission-critical applications, company officials say.
Cicoil encapsulates individual components in a shock absorbing jacket to
resist the effects of severe vibration, G-Forces, flames per UL 94V-0, ice,
fog, ozone, steam, humidity, harsh weather, salt corrosion,
operational stress, chemicals, and the rigors of turbulent flight.

The cables operate in temperatures from -65 to 260 degrees Celsius, and can incorporate power conductors, controlled impedance pairs, shielded control wires, video conductors, multi-layer shielding options, and Cicoil's patented StripMount fastening strip.

Cables are available in continuous lengths, break-outs, custom shapes for tight spaces, cut to order, or as assemblies, with connectors. Cicoil's clear Flexx-Sil encapsulation needs no external sheathing or conduit for protection that is tear-resistant and will not deform or wear during a lifetime of more than 10 million cycles, even under tight bending radius and high speed flexing conditions.
Cicoil's Flexx-Sil jacket is self-healing from small punctures and cable
jacket damage can easily be repaired in the field. For applications that
require resistance to abrasion and adhesion, Cicoil offers low friction coating
 options by request.
Cicoil's Shock Absorbing Cables are halogen-free, flame retardant, UL
recognized, CE Conforming, RoHS and REACH compliant, and are cured
continuously, with no debris or material impurities, in an automated,

climate controlled environment.

Open Systems Architectures for RF and Microwave SystemsWithin the
commercial industrial base adherence to standards such as IEEE, ANSI
and ISO are nothing new. However, there has been very little
standards-based activity born out of defense. Meaning, when a
standards-based approach is called for, almost all of the activity comes
 out of the commercial sector.
