That’s a daily, probably not exact daily but several time a week series
of Russian street life, the photos gathered from different sources,
on which the nice moments are caught, with some commentaries.
Just for some easy viewing.

Neither he is not a military man, just some kind of guard wearing
scary military uniform, it seems that he is guarding an antique store,
at least that what is written on that red sign.

That is Russian car “LADA 2109”, it was in production since late
80-s until something like 2002. The funny thing that it is not a photo
from a car accident but a real car driving across some big city.

This is a patrol car UAZ. The initial model of this car is in production
since early 60-s! It was built with idea it could be moving ahead of
the tank squad across the fields and forests areas where are absolutely
no roads. Nowadays they are still in production and are being used
in big cities in a few modifications. The doors from the back of the
car are used to place suspects inside.

This is a Russian police guy trying to stop a car probably or just
making some magic passes with his wand. Road patrol policemen
in Russia take money without issuing a ticket in 90% of the cases.
There are drivers who pay each year a lot of penalties and none
of them go through a bank, but directly to a police officer. That’s
pretty nice – you can always argue a much lower amount of the fine
with an officer, and you don’t need to waste your time visiting a bank.
There was a story once in Russian mass media, that police officers
from road patrols are making some scratches with a needle on the
driver’s license. They were doing this to share their experience in
establishing business relation with each specific driver. A dot made
on the nose part of the photo on the driver’s license meant for
example that it’s easy to get a lot from this driver and dots on the
ears meant that it was easy to turn the driver to a state of panic
with some rough words etc.
Some drivers started noticing this dots on their licenses after dating
the road patrols and rumors start spreading, so policemen stopped
doing these things.

Just a funny way of transporting both the chair and the flower in one hand.

Just a Russian girl, the sign on the skirt is “Smaller is better”.

That’s from Ukraine, former part of USSR, in there are still a lot people
(more than half) speak Russian. According to the sign this is a building
is a “Bureau for Better City Look”, of Odessa city. By the way David
Copperfield is from Odessa.

That’s how most of people see Russia sometimes. Bears riding the
Taxi cars. Well, it seems sometimes they are right.

These are Russian police officers, standing near some govermental
building, this gate with some brass elements looks very much
govermental. I can’t for sure say that the forth gay, the one
standing aside, is doing something weird. It is a total lack of respect
for a goverment!

This is Wedding Truck. Probably for carrying a lot of guests. By the
way this truck’s brand name is KAMAZ, they win every year
Paris-Dakkar European race (from Paris to Middle Africa).

That’s a photo from some performance contest for the kids. The organizer
of the contest probably was thinking about his own viewing pleasure than
about the children’s one. I hope those kids won’t get a psychological
trauma seeing this.
It’s nice to see the pictures people are sending in, if you are living in Russia
and want to share with me some of your snapshots it would be really apreciated.
